From Trail to Festival

11:11 AM

It’s August — the festival month in Edinburgh, when the city buzzes with culture, music, theatre, and street performances. And hey, we’re already in Scotland… so why not head over there for a bit of fun? 🤔

Said and done: with tired legs but renewed enthusiasm, we find ourselves sitting on the floor of an overcrowded train station like eighteen-year-olds again, backpacks beside us.

Off to Edinburgh! 🥳

Journi Moment

The train winds along part of the route we ourselves walked only recently. We see hikers out in the rain, moving on step by step — and secretly, we’re quite happy to be sitting down for a change.

It’s a moment of afterglow with a golden edge: a five-hour train journey straight through the Scottish Highlands, past lochs, mountains, and endless valleys. A moment of rest, while the landscape gently waves goodbye to us one last time.

😂 And there we are — backpacks on, dusty from the trail, right in the middle of vibrant Edinburgh.

It’s busy, music everywhere, laughter, applause. Fire breathers make flames dance, street musicians play their hearts out, and we look around as if we’ve just stepped into another world.

Where on earth have we ended up now? 🥳
