Test Blackbird hammock

After spending a summer in the tent, I wanted more comfort without having to lose weight.

I quickly got into the hammock circuit and by searching the hammock forum I bought the Blackbird hammock. Shipped from Warbonnetoutdoors together with a tarp and under quilt from ZPacks.

The Warbonnet Blackbird is a 1.0 single layer hammock and weighs 345gr. without all the ti-outs.
The 10' Tarp with doors weighs 218gr and the 3/4 10F Under Quilt weighs 312gr.

Also, I had another Frameless Backpack from ZPacks to try. This one weighed 295gr. I did not like the backpack; it has the same capacity as the ArcBlast but it does not sit well and hangs too much, giving me the feeling of falling backwards.

After trying this setup for a few nights I decided to return everything.
Why: The blackbird fabric was too thin causing me pain under my knees. The fabric formed ribs that went right under my knees. The American term for this is Calfridge. After contacting Brandon the hammock was returned without any problems.

The under quilt was too cold and I could not get it fit properly against the hammock. This created gaps between the quilt and the hammock. At a temperature of -5 you are not happy with that.
The tarp had some factory flaws that didn't make me very happy either. Fortunately, Joe is not a bad guy and everything was returned.
